In 1961 the Ithaka was shipwrecked on the Hudson Bay coastline 16kms east of the Town of Churchill after a large storm in Hudson Bay. Stories of ripped off anchor chains, broken rudders, running aground during the high tide storm surge, and her lucky resting spot where at low tide you can hop off the ship and walk to shore!
